Suspect in Richmond’s 37th homicide surrenders to police

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Richmond Police announced Monday that the suspect in Richmond’s 37th homicide of the year has surrendered.

Around 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Richmond Police were called to the 2700 block of the Richmond-Henrico Turnpike where they found a woman lying on the ground.  She had been shot and was later pronounced dead at VCU Medical Center.

Police worked leads that led to a Henrico county home, where the suspect was alleged to be hiding. A SWAT team presence accompanied police, but the suspect was not there.

Family members confirmed Sunday with CBS 6 that the victim was 26-year old Sheena Green.

Corenzo Hill, 30, of the 3700 block of Conway St., Henrico, turned himself into officers late Sunday night,  at police headquarters.
