RURAL CARJACKING: Suspect Still At Large

A carjacking in an unlikely place has residents on edge and police still looking for the suspect.

Jim Henifen says NW Beaver Drive between Johnston and Polk city is considered a low traffic area.

“Not really just beside the National Guard driving by in field across the street,” says Hanifen.

Hanifen lives near the 9800 block of NW Beaver Drive and says it’s always been quiet.

“We`ve lived out here for 30 something years and we haven`t had any trouble.”

Wednesday afternoon in broad daylight, deputies say a man was acting suspiciously by trying to flag down cars near the 9500 block. Henifen says that’s unusual to see, especially on a road few people drive on.
